Who we are

Worth Finding is a general partnership operated by Adam Rankin and Gemma Kent. We are the data controllers responsible for the personal information described in this notice.

Contact: hello@worthfinding.co.uk

This is a correspondence address only. Please do not deliver items to this address.

Information we collect

  • Your name, email address and telephone number.
  • Your collection address and postcode.
  • Information about the bags and item types you offer.
  • Your preferred collection date and time, notes and correspondence with us.
  • The status and history of your collection request.
  • Basic technical and security information recorded when the website is used, such as request logs.

Please do not include health information or other sensitive personal information in the notes box unless it is genuinely necessary for arranging safe access.

Why we use it and our lawful bases

Arranging the service

To assess, contact you about, confirm and complete a collection request. We rely on taking steps at your request and performing our collection arrangement.

Operating safely

To plan routes, maintain records, respond to queries, protect the service and resolve complaints. We rely on our legitimate interests in running a safe and accountable local business.

Legal responsibilities

To keep records or disclose information where the law requires it, and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We do not use collection details for unrelated marketing, and we do not sell personal information.

Who receives the information

Adam and Gemma can access collection details through the private Worth Finding dashboard and business email account. We also use trusted suppliers that provide website hosting, database storage and transactional email delivery. They process information only to provide those services and are expected to protect it.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect someone’s safety, or to deal with fraud, complaints or legal claims. We do not share customer lists with other businesses for their marketing.

Some technology suppliers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards made available under UK data-protection law.

How long we keep it

  • Unsuccessful, cancelled or declined collection requests: normally up to 12 months after the request closes.
  • Completed collection records and related correspondence: normally up to 24 months after completion.
  • Information needed for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, a complaint or a legal claim: up to six years, or longer where the law requires it.

We may delete information sooner when it is no longer needed. When a longer period is necessary, we retain only what is relevant.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to ask for a copy of your information, correct it, request deletion, restrict its use, object to processing or receive information in a portable format. You may also object where we rely on legitimate interests.

Email hello@worthfinding.co.uk with your request. We may need to verify your identity before responding. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Security, cookies and changes

We limit access to the private dashboard, use access controls and reputable service providers, and take reasonable steps to protect customer information. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure, so please contact us promptly if you believe your information has been affected.

We do not currently use advertising or marketing cookies. The website and its providers may use essential technology and basic logs needed for security, authentication and operation.

We may update this notice as the pilot develops. The latest version will always appear on this page with its revision date.
